World population reaches 7 billion today on Halloween. That is a scary thought—even scarier that it will increase to 9 billion by 2050 along with the extinction of 1 in 10 animal and plant species we know now, that 45% of the Amazon rainforest could become grassland, that 3 billion people will be living in slums, and that scientists believe if current fishing practices continue there will be nothing left to fish from the sea.
